Unfunded Mandates
No legislation requiring funding will be considered without a detailed explanation of the source of those funds.

Taxes
I do NOT support tax increases. In 2011 and 2012, I worked on eliminating the Michigan Business Tax and the 22% surcharge tax on business. This helped save thousands of family owned businesses and jobs in our state.
I also am strongly apposed to any legislation designed to increase vehicle registrations costs, increase state gas taxes or implement a toll booth system on Michigan's state highways.

Common Core
I am vehemently apposed to Common Core. It is a flawed concept that is not in keeping with my beliefs of "less Government" and "local control.

Obamacare
The official name of "Obamacare" is "Affordable Care Act". However, it is neither affordable nor caring. "Obamacare" is a blatant government power grab based on lies. Everyday, thousands of hardworking families are losing their insurance, medical costs are rising, doctors are leaving the profession and the elderly worry about unqualified and uninterested government officials determining their fate. In 2012, the Obama administration hosted an event at the capital in Lansing. I asked some relevant questions regarding premiums and received an evasive answer that went something like this "...too complicated ...need a computer..."

Drivers Responsibility Fee
The Drivers Responsibility Fee (DRF) is a blatant violation of the state constitution's "Double Jeopardy" clause. Two payments for one offense. I presented legislation to eliminate the Michigan DRF for all non-alcohol related offenses. I proposed then and still intend to propose that we completely eliminated the DRF for non-alcohol offenses and require the state expunge the records, warrants and any other related existing penalties related.
